Illnesses and sicknesses :part 2.

Mae annwyd ar John.
John has a cold.
Mae annwyd arna i.
I have a cold.
Mae ffliw arnat ti.
You have flu.
Mae annwyd arno fe.
He has a cold.
Mae annwyd arni hi.
She has a cold.
Mae pla arnon hi.
We have plague.
Mae ffliw arnoch chi.
You have flu.
Mae annwyd arnyn nhw.
They have a cold.

NOTES

Where someone is suffering from an ailment that affects the whole body and not a specific part, it is "on" them in Welsh. Note the different forms for on that go with the different parts of speech. Many prepositions such as on at with do this in Welsh. There is more detail about this later.
