NOTES

Welsh has two words that translate the English word "you". Ti is used with friends, animals and God, but only in the singular.

Chi is used with someone you don't know so well, or with someone with whom you need to show respect. It is also used with more than one person, never mind how well you know them.

In South Wales Shwd is used for How. It is roughly pronounced like "Should" in English. The official form is Sut which is used in the north. This is the form that is usually written.
